"What's been going on?" you may be asking. Or perhaps you have not even noticed this extended absence. I am back in the studio, again with glass. It was my good fortune to receive a commission for a panel from a couple who understand and appreciate my "make it with what already exists" philosophy. Finally an opportunity to incorporate some precious hand-rolled antique flash glass where it will be appreciated and will have a chance to shine. Designing the panel was pure joy because I drew only on my imagination, and selecting glass in a successful treasure hunt. As usual, execution of the design brings its own challenges; still there is immense pleasure stepping back after a few hours of labour and admiring the developing work. It is that balance between frustration and pleasure that ensure I step out of the studio and return after a few hours (or days depending on how the scale is skewed) and today, brings me to my blog for the first time in ever-so-long.
The cabinet doors still have no cabinet but I am enjoying them as they enrich the bleakness of another snowy February day.
